Dr. Zarei is one of the finest. most expert, caring physicians I have ever had, maybe THE finest, and her team, including Naren and Michelle, is wonderful.
Amazing physician and staff! Dr. Zarei always takes the time to explain diagnosis and treatment – to ensure proper patient compliance!
Dr Zarei is very caring, kind, and a very good physician. She takes a detailed history, and takes into account my other current issues. She will follow up, and is very proactive about taking care of you as a person and not just the disease. Will be a patient of hers forever. Her assistant Nerin is amazing as well.

Half the battle is showing up.
2 hour hike today to Lake Ramona.
So humbling seeing the other hikers carrying 20-30 lbs up the hill on their back.
Exhilarating to be able to move, freedom to breath, feeling our pulse double/triple and yet our physiology is made to deliver
Take care, have a healthy weekend.

Pizza in our house is made with 95% veggies.
Mushrooms 🍄
Bell peppers 🫑
🍅 tomatoes
Basil 🌿
Make the dough or buy from @traderjoes
Oven 400 degrees, first roll out dough, and bake for 10 min
Then add all veggies, sauté mushrooms,
( we don’t add sauce, the veggies give enough moisture)
Add a bit of fresh cheese- (I had non-vegan baby mozzarella , or can use non-dairy cheese) I know i cheated today!!!
Bake 15-20 minutes!
If you are used to the meat and sausage just slowly wean yourself off. The store bought has too much oil, salt, and never enough veggies.
The more fiber rich foods you eat, the better digestion you experience, can avoid the dreaded Constipation, and yes….achieve that Nirvana experience after using the john, where you exit the bathroom feeling you can achieve anything the day brings. End result, optimal overall and Colon health. And you thought this post was just about pizza 🍕
So Who does not want that?

My amazing patient today complained she is cooking for one, at 79 she was finding it hard to keep a balanced diet.
After we talked about her dry eyes, and nasal issues which brought her in, the rest of the visit was spent on downloading daily dozen app, created by Dr michael Greger @nutrition_facts_org where she got so excited about how simple balancing things could be.
Check off what you eat, count down 12 things you need daily, lots of videos and recipes too.

“After all what is the meaning of life but To love fully, and be deeply loved”
According to Kasey Altman, 26 year old writer, former division 1 athlete, who after 2 years of radical recovery, lost her battle to a rare stage 4 cancer on July 4th 2022.
Everyday I Re-learn how to love and care better for the lives around me, this planet 🌎, and even myself.
The Blessing is when you wake up healthy and realize life has given you another chance at honing in those essential life long skills.
Somedays I suck at it, but I wake up and try again, through the strength of stories I get to witness around me or at work, and especially hearing the brave advice from warriors like @kasey.altman
So promise yourself today to embody love to the best of your ability🙏❤️🩹😔

“Try spending 30 minutes resting your mind daily.”
Do you remember how bored you would get in summers as a child. No camp, no internships, just you and a lazy long hot summer day. How many people still plan for it, or allow their kids to have Free time.
Was listening to NPR, as Rick Stevens was interviewing his guest, a scientist who talked about the importance of taking time to let our minds wander, become creative, the way we did before smart phones, social media, and email.
One more month of summer left, try getting your hands dirty in a small garden, or catch up on a good read 📚.
